Picture this: quarantine is over and you’re planning the biggest party of your life. What better place to do this than deep in the madness of Bangkok? 1.Baan Kai
First up we’ve got Baan Kai hostel, located in the center of Thong Sala and Haad Rin – home to the main venue for the full moon party itself! You can’t get a better location than this. Backpackers love it for being so conveniently located, near an abundance of venues, restaurants and shops in the area.
2. Dancing Elephant Beach Club
If you’re the kind of person to party till the sun comes up, then Dancing Elephant Beach Club is the perfect place for you. It’s super cheap and great if you’re looking for a place just to sleep – with nightly lodging prices that won’t break the bank. The hostel is 15 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from most of the events venues. Be sure to make full use of the cheap drinks and happy hour at the bar beforehand!
3. Roadtrip Phangan
Located (literally) one minute’s walk from Haad Rin beach, Roadtrip Phangan hostel is another top contender for its prime location. With shared dorms and private rooms to pick from, super clean, comfortable and come with modern furnishing. There’s air conditioning too, which we’re sure will ease the hangover the following morning.
4. Echo Beach hostel
A recent study has shown that Gen-Z backpackers will favor hostel decor and facilities over price in their future travels. If this sounds like you, Echo Beach hostel is a must-visit. It’s famous for its huge outside beach garden, with lazy hammocks, bean bags fit-for-two and palm trees dotted all around. Not to mention this is all on the beach, so it’s a haven for sure.
5. Slumber Party Koh Phangan
This highly rated party hostel is loved for its dreamy outdoor infinity pool, awesome vibes and super friendly staff. Slumber Party Koh Phangan is certainly no stranger to DJ visits – playing almost daily to get you ready for the full moon party. Though the hostel warns that ‘if you’re looking to get a good night’s rest then we are not the hostel for you’ – noted!!!
6. Moov Inn
For the ultimate chillout experience, it’s no surprise why Moov Inn hostel is one of Bangkok’s best relaxation spots – being surrounded by stunning tropical gardens and a huge social rooftop makes it the top choice for many backpackers. All dorms are fully equipped with A/C, super comfy bunk beds with reading lights and private curtains so you can sleep in privacy. Enjoy live sports and music which are held regularly at the hostel. 7. Hostel 69 Koh Tao
This backpacker-favorite hostel is known for its modern yet simplistic interior inspired by the summer of 1969. It’s located within walking distance from the full moon party club venues so you won’t need to spend money on cabs (unless you had a really heavy night). But besides that, it’s got A/C, massive courtyard, live music and a bar with happy hours!
8. Mad Monkey Koh Phangan
If you haven’t already stayed in the Mad Monkey hostel chain, you really should. Like, go there ASAP. It’s the largest boutique hostel chain in the whole of Southeast Asia – famous for its incredible social atmosphere, ideal locations, and most importantly mid-week pre-parties ahead of main events. If you’re traveling solo it’s probably got to be the best place you can make friends and try epic new activities and experiences together, all offered by the hostel!
