Safety is the main concern of travelers. If you are alone, or if you are a woman, even more!
I have been to the most developed and poorest countries in the world. Common violence such as petty theft occurs in all of them.
So I want to share some effective security measures so that you dramatically reduce the chances of something going wrong with you during your adventure.
1 – Where you keep your documents

It is not just taking your wallet. That’s because a wallet is a very easy item to be stolen, lost, or forgotten anywhere. Choose to use something that is attached to your body. That is why I always use these pouches, as in the image above, also known as money belts.
It will definitely be your best friend during the trip. In places where you feel most insecure, you can even sleep with it (I did this while in an armed conflict zone, for example).
And it will be essential to keep the most important document of your trip: your passport. And the next tip is about this guy.
2 – No documents in safes of hostels / hotels

It is common to hear people saying that the passport security measure is to go out on the street with only a copy of the document and leave the original version at the hostel or hotel.
This is a strategy that can cause problems because there is no way to guarantee the total security of the place where you will be staying. Also, what if, in an emergency, you need your original document while on the street?
Of course, it is important to have a photo of your documents on your phone and in the cloud (in your email, for example). But the passport itself is also a way of ensuring your security. And it’s important to keep it with you all the time. Keep it in the money belt, which will be hidden under your clothes and attached to your body. There is no safer place.
3 – Virtual Banks

When we travel we considerably increase the chance of our bank cards being cloned. This has already happened to me and, at the time, my bank simply asked for 20 days to send a new card. Also, I already had to go to my bank branch to order a new card. Of course, this has improved with virtual cards.
But it is important to check the practicality that your bank offers if you need to block and request a new card. Today, to travel, I use only virtual banks that offer 24-hour service and allow me to block my card with just one touch on the app, in addition to being able to continue using the transfer and payment functions by QR Codes, for example.
5 – Attach the cell phone to you

There are small accessories that can be used to attach your cell phone to your clothing, as in the photo above.
This model is interesting because it makes your phone stick to you, but at the same time, it can be used to send a message or even take photos.
You can also make a kind of quick fix with a rope, for example. Then just be creative.
6 – The kind of backpack for the tours

Mainly bags considered feminine are more vulnerable, as they are used attached to a single shoulder and on the side of the body. If you are holding it by the handles and with just one hand then it is a perfect scenario for those human beings who run by, grab your bag and leave.
Use backpacks attached to your back. Some models even have accessories to be attached to your waist. There are also side models that go through the neck and the chest, also being well attached to your body.
No fancy mechanisms are needed. The important thing is to ensure that this item is not so easy to be taken away from you.
Dicas muito importantes!! Loved the first one ☝️.
